BOOKING AND PAYMENT POLICIES

  • A $150 deposit is required for any booked session time over 5 hours. The remaining balance is due in full at the end of your session – no exceptions. 

  • Certain special packages set up by Studio Management (Michael Rende, Steve Paul Connelly) will require payment in full when the management decides.

  • A 2% transaction fee is added to all credit card, Cash App, Venmo, and debit card payments.

  • A 2% transaction fee is added to Paypal payments.

  • All-time spent in the studio must be within the time allotted that is booked by the artist prior to the session date. It is at the management’s discretion whether an artist starts prior to and or goes over their scheduled time.

  • Any bundle packages sold by the studio must be paid in full prior to your session.

  • Unused studio time that has been purchased must be used within 12 months of the payment date. 

  • The artist whose name is listed on the invoice as payee is the owner of the masters once the entire session is paid in full. Moreover, artist’s tape masters and other forms of archival media can be purchased at an additional cost set by the management.

  • All payments are final and non-refundable. 

RESCHEDULING POLICIES

  • Artists must notify the management 48 hours in advance if they need to reschedule their session(s). 

  • When an artist communicates in advance (48 hours or more) regarding the rescheduling needs, their initial 50% deposit won’t be forfeited, and vice versa. 

  • If any problem arises during the artist’s session that impedes the management's ability to complete the session, it is up to the management to reschedule the artist at the next available time slot. Moreover, Artists are able to collect unused time and use it at later times scheduled by the management. 

NO SHOW POLICIES 

In case of a no-show scenario, the artist’s initial 50% deposit is forfeited on the day of the session - no exceptions. 

CANCELLATION POLICIES

If for any reason, you must cancel your studio time, please notify the studio management completely. The initial 50% deposit is forfeited and non-refundable for all cancellations - not exceptions.

TARDINESS POLICIES

  • Appointment times have been scheduled specifically for you. If you show up late, your scheduled time may be shortened in order to accommodate sessions following yours. Depending upon how late you show up, it is at the discretion of the management to determine if there is enough time left to start your session. 

  • Regardless of the length of your scheduled studio time, you will be required to pay for the entire session.

  • Therefore, out of consideration and respect to your engineer and other artists, please plan accordingly and be on time.

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

  • We utilize Pro Tools HD. If you do not use Pro Tools, make sure to upload or bring your stems to deliverables to us as either an mp3 or WAV file before and or on the day of your scheduled session.

  • Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes before your session to ensure that you are on time for your session.

DURING YOUR SESSION

  • Large sessions such as live band tracking can take a long time to set up. Please allow up to 2 hours for large session setups (ie drums, and full band tracking).

  • Get with your engineer either ahead of your session to discuss set up and layout. 

  • Please bring an SSD hard drive to your session if you want your raw session files such as Pro Tools session and or audio files folders (USB flash drives are not accepted as it takes a very long time). In the case that you bring a USB flash drive, we are not obligated to give you your session files on the day of your session, as it takes a long time. Furthermore, the studio offers SSD hard drives to purchase, for your convenience. 

  • Editing your files and the final/demo bounce is done during your session time and if more time is needed to complete the files the way you want it, you will be charged at our normal hourly rate for the time spent.  

  • It is important to understand, mix session files need their own separate session and it does NOT apply to the same procedures as tracking sessions.

  • WeTransfers must be downloaded within 14 days of your session or your session link will expire. 

AFTER YOUR SESSION

  • If you need further edits after your session, please contact your engineer.

  • Studio drives will be cleared and or archived every 90 days. To ensure that your files are saved and not lost forever, please make sure to obtain them shortly after your session.

EDITS & REVISIONS

  • Edits and revisions that take more than 30 minutes will be moved to a separate mixing session and you are required to pay the hourly rate itemized on our rate card.

  • The first revision per track is on us, but if more revisions are needed, you are required to pay the normal hourly rate itemized on our rate card.

  • Any revisions and or edits that take less than 30 minutes of work costs our artists $40. Normal hourly rate applies to any edits and or revisions that take more than 30 minutes of work 

GENERAL POLICIES & REGULATIONS

  • Our “NO DRUG TOLERANCE POLICY” states that we are strictly prohibiting the use and or possession of any illegal drug substances on the premises. Furthermore, we are unaware of any possession/use of any illegal drug substances on our premises. Please be advised, that if we discover possession and or use of any illegal drug substances, we are obligated by law to intervene and contact the local law enforcement.

  • For the safety of our artists and management, please refrain from smoking tobacco inside the building. Our smoking area is located behind and in front of the building. 

  • Furthermore, we have a “NO WEAPON POLICY” which states that no weapons (such as firearms, knives, swords, brass knuckles, or anything that can cause bodily damage) are allowed on the premises. If you do carry a weapon, please keep it in your car or at home but please refrain from entering the building armed.

  • We exclusively reserve the right to deny entry or refuse business without refund, liability, or compensation if the circumstances require us to do so. Zen Recording policies and regulations are subject to change without notice to our artists.

  • The unauthorized use of Zen Recording’s logo, name, and or any trademarks of the brand is strictly prohibited and will follow with appropriate legal actions against the perpetrator.
